Making Hotel/Resort Reservations

- Research your destination so you will know what to expect before you arrive.
- Look at what types of amenities are offered so you will know what to bring.
- Find out if the hotel offers shuttle transfers to save on taxi fare or even a rental car.
- Verify any special requests you may have, such as a nonsmoking room or king bed.
- Know the cancellation policy. Most have no penalty if cancelled 24 hrs prior to check in.
- Book early to secure a low rate.
- Use a credit card to hold a room in case of late arrival.
- Sign up for any hotel rewards programs. Some offer free rooms or even air miles.
- Print out your confirmation and receipt and take these with you to your hotel.
- Use the experience of a Professional Travel Agent.

Making your Stay less Stressful

- Ask at the reception desk for a business card with the hotel's name, address and telephone number.
- Ask to see your room first to make sure everything is in order.
- Bring along a little alarm clock just so you don't miss that wake up call.
- Know the fire exit in case of an emergency.
- When in our room always use the security latch on your door for extra safety.
