Here are some travel health tips to help you stay healthy no matter where you are traveling. Remember, if you have any questions or concerns, always ask your doctor or other health professional.

- Wear a medical information bracelet if needed, and take along a first-aid kit.
- Bring an extra set of glasses, eyewear prescriptions or contacts.
- Be sure to check on any travel health requirements for the countries you plan to visit, such as necessary immunizations or tests. Check the Centers for Disease Control Travelers’ Health page for specific details.

Stay Healthy while en Route

- Drink plenty of water, avoid eating too much.
- To reduce blood clot risk in your legs from sitting too long, move about and stretch as frequently as possible.
- Readjust your schedule to the local time as soon as possible. On long haul flights a short 1 hour cat nap may do the trick.

Stay Healthy while on Vacation

- Always wash your hands frequently, especially before eating or after using the restroom. Use a hand sanitizer if you are far away from soap and running water.
- The safest drinks are factory-sealed beverages, such as bottled water or soda, or hot beverages such as tea and coffee.
- The safest foods are those that are well-cooked and factory-packaged, as well as those served in major hotels and restaurants.
- Wear a helmet if you'll be riding a motorcycle and use your seat belt when riding in vehicles.
- Use sunscreen and hat or longsleeves to protect from the sun.
